J.R. Williams' Bad Boys

Cartoonist J. R. (Jim) Williams self-published his BAD BOYS in 1986 in this limited edition. The Bad Boys bear some resemblance to Mike Judge's Beavis and Butthead, but Bad Boys pre-dated that series by several years. To be fair to all the cartoon juvenile delinquents out there, Bad Boys are the spiritual descendants of Hans and Fritz, the Katzenjammer Kids, themselves children of Wilhelm Busch's Max und Moritz, the 19th Century incarnation of the Bad Boys.

Williams' off the wall and acerbic sense of humor served his subject matter well.

  1. I dunno. How bad can they really be if the people whom they kill are gonna return to life anyway?
